The Berkshire Unicorns welcome all players regardless of ages, abilities or experience, from seasoned players to those who have never picked up a rugby ball, offering a sporting home and family for all LGBTQIA+ persons and allies.

We play both traditional contact rugby and touch rugby which is a fun, fast paced, minimal contact version of the sport and a great way for people to get involved.

Many of our players in both teams had never played rugby before joining the Unicorns and despite being one of the most successful IGR clubs in the country our focus is on safely involving everyone and making sure everyone gets to enjoy being a Unicorn.

Our contact team plays in the International Gay Rugby (IGR) southern league, and we train all members in the full suite of Rugby Union aspects such as scrums, rucks, line outs and kicking.

Whilst for now we only have a men's contact rugby team, our touch team is mixed and as the club grows we look forward to fielding a women's contact team as well.

Throughout the year we also participate in a number of IGR and non-IGR events including:

• Touch My Brum: A Birmingham based touch rugby tournament
• Hadrians Cup: A 10s tournament in Newcastle
• Thebans Clinic: A rugby training camp set in Edinburgh
• Unicorn Unity Cup: Our own 10s tournament that the Berkshire Unicorns founded and run in Maidenhead
• IGR Summer Touch Days: A series of touch tournament days in hosted by ourselves and other IGR clubs
